Frequently Asked Questions

Below are some commonly asked questions. Feel free to book an initial call where we can answer any of these directly.

Do you work online or in person?

I offer sessions in person in South Liverpool (The Changing Rooms, Sudley Estate, L18 8BX) as well as online for people around the country and world. I can offer a hybrid model where we switch between in person and online.

How much does Couples therapy or Individual therapy cost?

Sessions for individuals (including EMDR therapy) start at £125 per hour. Sessions for couples or families start at £150 an hour. For sessions that start after 7pm or are on a weekend, an additional £50 charge is added. We will discuss finances in our initial call so please share any concerns or queries.

When can I see you?

I have session availability on the following days:

Tuesday 9-6; Wed 9-5.30; Thurs 9-4.15; Fri - 9-6. I offer occassional evening sessions on a Mon and Wed at 7pm. I can offer some flexibility to meet at 8.30am.

Do I need to know what therapy I need?

No! You can come and have a free 20min chat, let me know what you are dealing with, and I can advise what I think might be useful (whether with me or another practitioner). You may want to do individual work and consider looking at trauma or family stuff, so I can create a bespoke therapy intervention for you where needed.

Do you work with couples who are unsure whether to stay together?

Yes - Couples therapy can be a great place to explore this question. We often will put a pause on deciding yes or no for a few sesssions, to give time to the therapy. But I will be upfront about this being an option, and we will discuss what it will mean for you if you stay together or separate. Either way, we want to build communication skills and an understanding of yourselves and each other, no matter what the future holds.

Do you work with couples online?

Yes - couples therapy online can work well, and you can either be together or on separate devices in separate spaces. It works best if you are using free standing devices where I can see you both, with a good connection. In all my couples work I am aim to contain a lot of the potential anger/conflict, and I will talk you through how I manage this online. The work can be a bit slower, in order to ensure everyone is heard, but this is something I do in person too - often we feel rushed to make decisions or find a way through, so slower pacing is often beneficial.
